Formula Savings

For all you new mothers out there as you know formula can be quite expensive. When my son was first born he was on Similac Advanced. Perfect I thought! Cheap enough. Well by the time he was 3 weeks old he was switched to Similac Alimentum and where I live is almost $9 a RTF bottle. I had a crap load of Advanced left over and without receipts I couldn't return to Walmart or where ever I had gotten it. My husband suggested eBay. I thought yeah right, who is going to sell formula on eBay. Well lets just say that a lot of people do. I also started looking into the coupons and checks that most formula companies will send you when you first have the baby. I started getting the retailer checks on ebay for less than $1 a peice. The checks are worth $5 in most cases. What is nice is you can use a manufacturers coupon along with the checks so you can usually get your formula for less than a $1.

Make sure you watch the auctions for the checks. Its amazing how much money people will spend on these checks (ex: $20 worth of checks and the auctions were going for $18 - only $2 in savings). If you are able to watch them during the day is when you can get the good deals.
